Julie Stefanski is a Lead Analyst in the SEC Reporting group within Accounting at Discover Financial Services. She earned her Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting at Loyola University Chicago. After earning her degree, she worked at Deloitte & Touche LLP in the Audit Practice. In her free time, Julie is heavily involved in the Greek community through both her parish Sts. Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church in Glenview, IL as well as the Young Adult League of Chicago. Julie has been a member of HPSI since 2016 and passionate about continuing to build a strong network within the Greek community.
Grace Trakas is the Supply Planner for US Humira within the immunology business at AbbVie. She is a South Carolina native who studied at the University of South Carolina and earned a Bachelor of Science in Operations & Supply Chain Management and Finance at the Darla Moore School of Business in 2019. She moved to Chicago to pursue a career in Supply Chain and quickly realized how vast the Greek community was here in the city and extended suburbs. In her free time, she likes to try new restaurants and bars, discover new music, and meet new people. Grace is eager to connect with other Greeks from outside of the Chicago area and make them feel welcome.
Dean Svolos is a Technology Consultant at EY in Chicago. He grew up in Northwest Indiana and graduated from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University in 2019. Dean is very involved with his home parish, St Demetrios Hammond, Indiana. In his free time, Dean enjoys playing soccer, exercising, trying new foods, and traveling. Dean is eager to join the HPSI Executive Board and strengthen the Greek community throughout the Chicago area.
Alexander Facklis is senior technical architect at Motorola Solutions where he designs end-to-end solutions for customers using Motorola and third party products and technologies. He is a versatile systems professional with diverse project-based experience spanning global multinational organizations, small businesses and startups in multiple industries. Having started his first business at 18, he brings an entrepreneurial perspective to his work. On a personal level, he enjoys soccer, fitness, modern Greek language and culture, Orthodox Christian spirituality, arts, interacting with his nephews and niece, and volunteering.
Joy Logothetis earned her Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing Science from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champagin, and her Master of Medical Science from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She became a board-certified Physician Assistant in 2012 and has experience in clinical, surgical, and inpatient settings. She has practiced Dermatology since 2013, and is employed at Medical Dermatology Associates in Chicago. Her various dermatological interests include treating eczema, psoriasis, skin cancers, and acne, and loves educating her patients on various therapies and preventative measures. During her free time, she enjoys traveling, catching up with family and friends, and trying to keep up with her twin daughters.
Kimon Katevatis is a Senior Underwriter at United Healthcare working on their fully insured business. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from the University of Connecticut in 2014. A native of Connecticut, his first job out of college brought him to Chicago, during which time he found a love for the city and the vibrant Greek community in Chicagoland. He credits HPSI for providing opportunities to meet others (some that have become his closest friends) and get involved in a community new to him. Feeling the need to give back to HPSI, he served as a Board Director and Interim Secretary in the past, and looks forward to serving again as the full-time Secretary this year. In his free time, he enjoys biking and running along the lake, exploring new areas of the city, writing, road trips, and vacationing abroad.
Demi Kallis is an Account Supervisor at DDB working on the Mars (Skittles & Starburst) account. A passionate marketer, she has previously managed advertising campaigns for brands such as KitchenAid and Nintendo. Demi graduated from Washington University in St. Louis where she studied psychology and marketing. A newer member of HPSI, she wants to effectively get the word out about upcoming events, help recruit new members, and cultivate a community of young Greek professionals in Chicago.
Alyssa Machinis joined HPSI as the Marketing Director in 2015 after earning her Bachelor of Science in Advertising at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. She is currently in her 2nd year of presidency of HPSI. She is a Decision Scientist at MERGE, where she uses research, trends, experiences, and data to help her clients solve problems. In her free time she enjoys trying new restaurants and cocktail bars, singing, and reading.
George Logothetis is a Senior Director at Aon. His background includes industry and consulting experience in strategy, process and delivery in Financial Services, Retail, Pharmacy, and Supply Chain. George has proven ability in developing business and operating model strategy while leveraging his deep leadership skills to deliver for Fortune 100 companies. Prior to returning as a Senior Advisor to HPSI in 2015, George had served on the Board, including two years as President, between 2003 and 2010. George is passionate about giving back to the Hellenic-American community and is happy to use his personal network of Hellenes across multiple professions to assist others.
Angelo P Angelos is a licensed Real Estate Broker with years of experience in residential and commercial markets, specializing in multi-family investment properties and investors who “fix-and-flip” distressed properties. He has taught in Greek language schools around the Chicago area for over a decade, and is currently Folk Music & Dance Instructor and Ethnic/Holiday Program Coordinator at the Plutarchos Hellenic American Academy. Angelo has been and currently is an active member in many Hellenic organizations. He is currently National Youth Governor of the Federation of Sterea Hellas of America and Canada, a member of the Society Distomiton, and was the Founder and President of the Union of Hellenic Patriots of Chicago. Angelo joined HPSI because he appreciates what the organization does for Hellenic community and wants to give back by contributing to its purpose.
Stacy Economy became a member of HPSI in 2015. She obtained her Bachelor of Architecture and a Minor in Structural Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology and currently works for Pepper Construction Company. In her free time she has served as the Alumnae Advisor of Kappa Phi Delta Sorority and enjoys reading, traveling, and exploring Chicago's urban fabric. Stacy looks forward to strengthening the Hellenic network in Illinois.
Nikos Tsonis obtained his BA from Yale University in Philosophy and his JD/MBA from Boston University. He is a partner at Tsonis & Associates, LLC, a boutique law firm focusing on commercial and industrial property assessment law, and is a passionate board member of HPSI.
