HPSI is led by a dedicated group of professionals, including 8 officers, multiple directors, and is advised by the immediate past president.r
Each year in May, elections are held for all officers and directors, who serve one-year terms. Elections are held by secret ballot. Board members are sworn in at the Graduates' Presentation Event.
To be eligible to serve on the Board of Directors, candidates must be members in good standing, graduates of accredited 4-year universities, and elected by the membership. For more information on the positions, please contact the HPSI President listed below.

Her primary focus has been driving the financial performance and operational efficiencies of corporate and US business unit operations, assisting with acquisitions such as Lifesavers, Altoids, and Mars, and delivering cost savings. Jenny graduated from University of Illinois at Chicago with honors in Finance and International Business and will be pursuing her MBA in 2011. She has been serving on the board of directors for the last 4 years and is currently Vice-President. |

CarsDiva.com is a professional and social network, catered to women automotive consumers, enthusiasts and those working within automotive-related industries. Prior to this, Demetra was Vice President, Marketing & Business Development of the Corporation of Automotive Remarketing, Inc. (CAR), the creator of Driveitaway.com & Carliquidators.com, the global leaders in upstream remarketing for rental car operators and commercial fleets. Markopoulos was also a Production Supervisor for Univision Communications, and an International Customer Service representative for Harken, Inc. She has a BA from Northwestern University, with a double major in International Studies and Hispanic Studies. |

Prior to joining Treasury Strategies in 2009, Ms. Pappas spent 3 years in the financial services industry working with Citi Smith Barney and UBS Financial Services, Inc. During her tenure, she gained experience in capital markets and economic research, investment performance analysis, and client relationship management. Ms. Pappas graduated cum laude with her BSBA in International Business and her International MBA from the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver. She has served on the board for the past 2 years, most recently as Corresponding Secretary last year. |

Prior to his current role in Accenture CIO, Mr. Facklis developed training and methodology applications for Accenture Learning, Accenture's training outsourcing arm. He began his career with Andersen Consulting working on technology engagements for clients throughout North America within Technology Integration Services. He has served in a variety of roles across the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), on a broad range of projects, using various technologies. |

Mr. Vabakos learned the intricacies of the hospitality industry from a legendary mentor and friend, Bill Giangreco, in the Chicago Area & then took that knowledge to new heights while building, buying & renovating hotels thru-out the Midwest. He also learned how to negotiate the best financial terms when buying & remodeling hotels through the VC & private equity arms of his business. Mr. Vabakos has also developed tremendous financial wealth management (FWM) skills which helped him to grow a FWM business to almost $300 Million in Assets Under Management (AUM) & then selling that business to a major global banking group. Mr. Vabakos has worked overseas in helping a former communist country transition to a globally qualified Capitalistic competitor. He has participated in projects with a major Eastern European Art Gallery to help locate artwork, statuary, artistic memorabilia, & historic artifacts that were stolen at the close of World War II, whether stolen by retreating Nazis, advancing Russians, or even liberating American, British & French troops. Mr. Vabakos is truly an experienced internationalist. One might even call him a Capitalistic Renaissance Man, who, while helping develop business globally for many past opportunities, also helps locally ambitious businesses & services improve their operating efficiencies, their profitability (ROI), and their CRM results. Mr. Vabakos has been able to grow companies through effective leadership, carefully managing sometimes tenuous teamwork challenges & growing market share while still showing companies how to trim expenses w/o exacerbating the previously existing management challenges. |
